We arrived late Saturday night after 3 flight delays and 9 attempts at notifying Abby car rentals that we were delayed. They do not answer their phone. We had prepaid $540 through Expedia. We arrived at 10.01pm and were advised we were late by 1 minute so had to pay an extra day. We were then told to get an email electronic drivers permit for each despite this being known as unnecessary. We remonstrated with the official who then refused to rent us a car and refused to refund us. Expedia confirmed that we did not need this permit but was not prepared to refund us but promised a credit of $250 to our account which has not happened.

We went over to Athenscars and were treated respectfully and expeditiously by a lovely young man who gave us a car at a lesser rate than Abby. We highly recommend Athenscars Crete and their staff need to be commended for excellent customer service. We would use them again.

Had a very positive experience renting from Athenscars. Good value and no worries about hidden fees etc. Friendly staff and a nice clean car.

Good car, friendly people, service as expected

This is the fourth time we have rented a car from Athenscars car hire. We have found many other car rental agencies to be untrustworthy in Crete as we visit often to see family and always need a car and are so glad we have discovered Athenscars. Athenscars are a fantastic company really decent and helpful. We have already booked a car for august. Many thanks guys.
